In South Africa, investments on land has led to thousands of farmers losing their land and livelihood. Both Sweden and the EU contributes actively to favor large foreign investors at the expense of small-scale, especially women, farmers’ rights to land and seeds. How can we stop this development and what responsibilities do we have in Sweden?
Afrikagrupperna welcomes you to a unique workshop where you through documentary storytelling will take part of stories from the smallholder farmers in northern Mozambique, as several has been, and still are, affected by land grabbing. At the seminar, you will also have the opportunity to listen to Flaida José Macheze, the gender and capacity-building officer on the national farmer organization UNAC of Mozambique. Flaida has worked for more than ten years with female farmers land rights.
